How We Work

How a project runs, from first message to launch

Every project we take on follows the same six stages. The order exists for one reason: so that you know what you are paying for before you pay for it, and so that you see the work while it is still easy to change.

The stages are the same whether we are building a business website, an online store or a custom application. Monthly services such as social media management follow a shorter version, set out at the end of this page.

The six stages

Scope first. Build in stages. Hand everything over.

  • Discovery — a short call about your business, goals and budget
  • Scope and quote — a written list of what is included, and the price
  • Design — structure and visuals, reviewed by you before anything is built
  • Build — developed in stages you can see and test as it grows
  • Launch — final checks, go live, and a handover of every account
  • Support — care plans, monthly management or help whenever you need it

1. Discovery

A short call or a WhatsApp conversation about your business, who your customers are, what you want the project to achieve and roughly what you want to spend. If what you are asking for is not the best way to reach your goal, this is where we say so.

2. Scope and quote

We write down exactly what is included — pages, features, platforms, number of revisions — and the price and timeline for it. Nothing starts until you have agreed it. Work outside the scope is quoted separately before it is done, never added to the bill afterwards.

3. Design

For websites and apps, we agree the structure first (what goes on each page) and then the visual design. You review both. For branding, this is where concepts are presented and refined.

4. Build

Development happens in stages you can see. For larger projects, each stage is a working piece of the finished product, delivered and reviewed before the next begins.

5. Launch and handover

Final testing on phones and desktops, then go-live. We hand over every login — domain, hosting, analytics, store and social accounts — in your name, with a short session showing you how to manage your own content.

6. Support

After launch you can look after things yourself, call on us when needed, or take a website care plan. Many clients continue with SEO or social media management so the new site keeps bringing in customers.

Monthly services

Social media management, paid advertising and SEO run month to month: an agreed plan at the start of each month, the work during it, and a report at the end showing what it achieved. You can read the details on our social media services page.

Payments

Projects are usually paid in stages — a deposit to begin, and the balance tied to agreed milestones. The exact schedule is in your quote. Our terms of service and refund policy set out the rest.
